After being detained for months following his arrest by ICE, Palestinian activist and lawful permanent U.S. resident Mahmoud Khalil has now been ordered by a judge to be deported—either to Syria or Algeria.

This is part of a broader pattern: the Trump administration is aggressively using the legal system to target Mahmoud and others as part of its crackdown on political dissent and free speech.

We must continue raising our voices and building public pressure to demand Mahmoud’s protection and push back against this far-right assault on our Constitutional rights.
